BeyondPrint Reader app good for
I love this app. Due to the large size of my ebook library, I am constantly looking for new e-reading apps. This one is almost perfect. I would only recommend adding the ability to sort titles into collections.
I love this app...thank you!!! 5 star rating is very well deserved!! I like the way you can swipe to increase / decrease the contrast.
Some bad moments
I used to use this and rather liked it, but now since updating my iPad I cannot get it to open, and it appears I’m not the only one. Now I have to delete all of my books and start over, loosing all of my notes and highlighting. Will teach me to use an independent app for something important.
You cant click links in a book.
This is a must feature especially if you read the bible which has a lot of links and make a back button to go with it so you can go back to where you were reading.
This app is great looking, customizable, easy to use, and reads adobe DRM books. I will never buy another DRM book if possible, but this reader handles them well. Enjoy!
This app works fine until it is exited out from, then it freezes the iPad and takes several minutes and a hard reset to fix.
This is what im looking for, as its able to load PDFs which were crashing Stanza whenever I tried to pinch the screen to resize text (and the cludgy workaround was to force-quit the app and restart the program, and disabling the resizing gesture....). Since Stanza seems to be going in another direction, maybe best to find a replacement....
Anyway, this has MOST of what I want/need in an iPhone reader: most importantly, orientation lock (important if you read while lying in bed on your side!), night mode, and the ability to adjust formatting and text color (with a three slider slider for red/green/blue to make your own color: nice!). Its a bit bare-bones compared to Stanza, but is a nice start.
Btw, one EXCELLENT feature is that it remembers the alignment and magnification when you advance to the next page, so it automatically centers without needing to readjust (as you need to do, with all the other PDF readers). Thats HUGE, as it makes the experience more like reading an ebook (and not reading an image file, a PDF).
Oh, for some reason, the justification is not working as expected (its not doing full justification, as is indicated in the preview pane).
Added features Id like to see? It would be great if the app integrated with Apples onboard dictionary (as Stanza did) to get on-the-fly definitions of words youre reading; also it would be nice to have the ability to add a gesture to adjust screen brightness so users wouldnt have to drill down into settings menu to change it...
It seems like a good app but I cant even download any books, so not worth it.
